Yeah, so I just got done with this second quiz. Thank god it was take home because I would have gotten a 25% on it for sure. I had no idea about any of the information on this quiz. It took me like 2 1/2 hours at home just to do it. The information given to us was from all different parts of the book. There is no one specific part of our book we can study for the quizzes.
So, with that said. I have a feeling I will be barely passing this class this semester. This is the second quiz and both have been extremely hard. I am just not absorbing the information being taught in class. When I get home, I have no idea where to look at the information to use repition to help me learn because the course is not being taught by the book. Its jumping everywhere in everywhich direction.

So, Matt...I have a couple of ideas for helping you in this class. One of the students in your class (Rachelle) is a note-taker for Catherine, the young woman in the class that has spina bifida. I would not have a problem with Rachelle making an extra photocopy of her notes, so that you had those to study from, along with the notes that you take in class. Secondly, I would suggest printing the powerpoints from WebCT prior to class so that you can follow along with them while I lecture - that way you can focus on comprehending the information, rather than just trying to write everything from the lectures. I would also strongly encourage you to join a study group with some of your classmates...even if it is a "virtual" study group where you communicate mostly by email. Talking about the class with other students in a constructive way...may provide you with some of the repetition that you feel that you need. You are welcome to attend any/all of evening A and P II lab sessions that I teach, which are every Mon. evening (6 - 8 PM). Lastly, there is the free tutoring through the Academic Support Center that you may want to consider requesting...if only until you feel more comfortable with my teaching style.
